Description:
A program that introduces students to the theory and practice of military science, life in the U.S. Army, and prepares them for cadet status (Junior ROTC or JROTC) or for service as commissioned reserve or active duty officers (senior AROTC or ROTC). Programs are offered as adjuncts to regular high school or college instructional programs.

ROTC is designed for individuals who feel an inclination toward military service. Due to the requirements of the program students must be willing to accept military service obligations. Once enrolled in the ROTC program, the military does not allow individuals to "change their mind." A student in the ROTC program must be committed to the military and accept this responsibility without hesitation.
